Skip grew up in California and graduated from high school in Washington. Although raised in a Christian home, it wasn’t until a stint in the Army that Christ became real in his life. After graduating from seminary and college, he began a traveling ministry to youth in the early 70's and then settled down as a local church pastor in Maine. In 1983 he left the "regular" ministry to start outreaches at ski resorts, the first being Sugarloaf Mt. in Maine. Following his marriage to Joyce in 1990 the two moved to NH to began their present ministry at Loon Mt.

Joyce began her life in North Carolina. Following her parents’ separation when she was three, she traveled with her itinerant carpenter-father for the next six years, settling down in Golden, Colorado. After her father remarried, the family moved to Sherman Station, Maine, where she completed her schooling. Joyce accepted Christ in her childhood, but drifted away in her teen years. Following some difficult personal experiences, she rededicated her life to Christ in the late 80's. It's her presence and support which has made this ministry possible. On a day-to-day basis she manages our thrift store and also serves as the ministry’s secretary.

Skip and Joyce have five grown children (one son and four daughters) and four grandchildren.
